How much is Cove per month?

Cove shows its plans as day rates on its monitoring page and publishes the matching monthly prices on its support site. As of October 2026:

All three include 24/7 professional monitoring with immediate dispatch, and Cove states its plans are contract-free with no cancellation penalties. You can switch plans from the customer portal at any time.

Premium adds a $5 per month equipment credit toward new devices, and Cove's support FAQ says unused credit rolls over. Used fully, that is $60 a year, or $180 over three years, of hardware (our arithmetic). It is a credit toward Cove equipment, not cash off your bill, so it only offsets Premium's higher price if you would buy more sensors or cameras anyway.

Cove's alarm response runs through six US monitoring centers. When an alarm trips, Cove texts you first (InstaText), then calls, and says it sends authorities within 30 seconds if it cannot reach you.

What does Cove equipment cost?

Cove sells equipment through a system builder quiz rather than a public price list. Its product pages describe each device but, on the pages we checked on October 1, 2026, did not show a price; the hub and alarm panel page notes only that the panel is available with camera-enabled monitoring plans. So we cannot quote a per-sensor price from Cove's own site today, and we are not quoting third-party estimates.

What Cove does publish about buying equipment:

• Sale pricing: a sitewide banner on October 1, 2026 advertised 70% off equipment plus a free HD camera on any new system, marked "Ends Midnight". Cove's FAQ says promotions change and prices cannot be locked in for a later date.
• Value Plan: pay for equipment upfront, own it from day one, and get Cove's lowest monitoring rates with no cancellation fees.
• Affirm financing: monthly payments for the equipment through Affirm, without a long-term monitoring contract.
• The old no-upfront plan is gone: Cove's Economy Plan (free equipment in exchange for a 36-month commitment and a $10/month convenience fee) applied to the Cove Simple panel, which Cove says it no longer offers.
• Discounts: Cove lists verified discounts for military, medical workers, teachers and government employees.

Cove Plus and SimpliSafe Core land within about $17 of each other over three years, but SimpliSafe Core includes 30-day recordings where Cove Plus stores 7 days.

Which Cove plan makes sense

Of the three Cove plans, by published pricing:

• Basic ($22.99/mo) if you want an alarm with professional dispatch and no cameras on the plan. It is the cheapest way into Cove.
• Plus ($32.99/mo) if you have one or two Cove cameras and only need a week of clips.
• Premium ($42.99/mo) if you want 30-day storage and the lifetime equipment warranty, and you would spend the $5 monthly credit on equipment anyway.

Cove's 60-day money-back guarantee gives you two months to return the system for a full refund; SimpliSafe's monitoring page advertises a free trial without stating its length.
