Guardian Protection Cost: Monthly Monitoring and Fees

As of October 2026, Guardian Protection's offer terms require monitoring of at least $49.99 a month on a 60-month agreement, or at least $64.99 a month with its Complete Protection package. Equipment packages cost $199, $399 or $1,999 with free installation. Guardian does not publish its monitoring tiers or early termination charge; both come by quote.

Figures researched 2026-10-01; each source below carries its access date. Prices change; treat any price here as "as of" its date.

How much is Guardian Protection per month?

Guardian Protection does not post a monitoring price list. What it does publish is a floor: the terms and conditions under each package offer state the minimum monthly rate the monitoring agreement must carry. As of October 2026, those floors are:

Package (pay in full)List price shownMinimum monitoring rate in the offer termsMinimum term
Starter$199 (shown against $899)$49.99/mo60 months
The Essentials$399 (shown against $1,099)$49.99/mo60 months
Complete Protection$1,999 (shown against $2,699)$64.99/mo60 months

Every package page says "additional monthly rates apply", so the package price covers equipment and installation only. The monitoring figure is a minimum, not a quote: Guardian names no plan tiers on its monitoring page and gives no per-feature prices, so a system with cameras or extra smart devices can be quoted above the floor.

The offers carry other conditions worth reading before you call. Each one requires credit approval, a signed Monitoring Agreement plus a Sales and Installation Agreement, recurring automatic payment, and home internet and Wi-Fi that can serve every component. The Essentials and Complete Protection terms run from 5/11/2026 to 12/31/2026; the $199 offer on Guardian's offer page runs from 9/21/2026 to 10/18/2026.

What a Guardian system costs over the full contract

The 60-month minimum term is the number that shapes your total. At the published floors, monitoring alone over five years works out as follows (our arithmetic, 60 payments at the minimum rate, before taxes):

PackageEquipment (pay in full)Monitoring at the floor, 60 monthsFive-year total at the floor
Starter$199$2,999.40$3,198.40
The Essentials$399$2,999.40$3,398.40
Complete Protection$1,999$3,899.40$5,898.40

If you would rather not pay the equipment up front, Guardian lists Affirm financing: Starter from $18 a month and Essentials from $37 a month at 15% APR over 12 months, and Complete Protection from $97 a month at 15% APR over 24 months. Those payments sit on top of the monitoring charge while they run.

Each offer also says the agreement must include an early termination charge, but Guardian does not publish the amount or the formula, so ask for it in writing with the quote. For how other providers word their exit costs, the ADT monitoring cost guide covers ADT's published 36-month terms, and our early termination fees comparison lines up the published formulas across brands.

What you get for the money

Every Guardian package includes free professional installation, 24/7 professional monitoring, a yard sign and window decals, and the Guardian app. The hardware steps up by package:

  • Starter: a no-screen panel, two door/window sensors, and one smoke or CO detector.
  • The Essentials: a touchscreen panel, four door/window sensors, one motion or glass break sensor, one smoke or CO detector and one water/freeze sensor.
  • Complete Protection: a touchscreen panel, ten door/window sensors, two motion or glass break sensors, four smoke or CO detectors, two water/freeze sensors, a video doorbell, and one indoor and one outdoor camera.

Guardian says it monitors from owned and operated US-based monitoring centers, and its monitoring page lists a certificate of monitoring for insurance purposes and three- and five-year price lock options. Whether a certificate lowers your premium depends on your insurer; Guardian does not promise a discount and neither do we.

One naming note: guardianalarm.com is a different website with its own packages and financing terms. Everything on this page comes from guardianprotection.com.

How Guardian compares on published price

Guardian's 60-month minimum term is longer than the 36-month contract on ADT's current pro-install offer, which starts at $59.99 a month. Vector Security, another regional pro-install company, is covered in our Vector Security cost guide. DIY providers publish month-to-month rates with no term at all; the full spread is in home security cost per month.

The trade is straightforward on paper. Guardian includes installation and puts a technician in your home, and the two entry packages cost $199 and $399 up front, but you commit to five years of monitoring at a rate you only learn from a sales call. If you want to compare that quote against other professional monitoring providers before you sign, we can fetch quotes through a short questionnaire.
