Vector Security Cost: Monitoring Prices and Contract Terms
The only Vector Security monthly price on its own site as of October 2026 is in a first responder offer: a 36-month agreement starting at $44.95 per month, with homeownership and approved credit required. Equipment, installation and early termination costs are quote-only. Over 36 months, $44.95 a month comes to $1,618.20 in monitoring (our arithmetic).

How much is Vector Security per month?
Vector Security sells professionally installed systems through local branches and prices them by quote. As of October 1, 2026, we found one monthly figure published on its own site, in the fine print of its First Responder Program offer:
| What Vector publishes | Figure (October 2026) | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Monitoring starting price | $44.95 per month | First Responder Program offer details |
| Agreement length on that offer | 36 months | Same |
| Requirements | Homeownership and approved credit | Same |
| First responder discount | 15% off installation, 20% off monthly services | Same |
| Moving customers | 50% off professional installation of a free Basic Security System and 15% off monitoring, if you tell Vector within 90 days of moving | Moving page |
| Buyer referral | $100 credit on your new system if the buyer of your old house becomes a customer | Moving page |
Vector's offer text does not say whether $44.95 is the price before or after the 20% first responder discount. If it is the pre-discount rate, 20% off would bring it to $35.96 per month (our arithmetic). Ask the branch to confirm which, and what a non-first-responder pays for the same package.
Vector's Shop Now tool starts by asking what you are protecting (single-family home, townhouse or condo, small business). We did not find package or equipment prices published on the site; installation, equipment and the monthly rate for anyone outside the first responder program come by quote.
What Vector's contract terms say
Vector is clear that a contract is part of the deal. Its military policy page states that all residential customers sign a contract covering installation, monitoring and other services, and that the term "could run over a period of several years depending on your service area and type of services." Vector explains the trade itself: it takes a loss on the upfront installation in return for a longer agreement. The only specific term we found published is the 36 months on the first responder offer.
For service members, Vector says it complies with Servicemember Civil Relief Act requirements related to home security services if a deployment or move changes your housing during the contract.
We could not find a published early termination formula, renewal terms or equipment ownership terms on Vector's site. Vector's own guide to reading a security contract tells buyers to look for exactly those items: installation, equipment, monitoring, repair and maintenance, warranty and cancellation fees, plus automatic renewal clauses that can trigger cancellation fees if you miss the window. It also notes that some companies let you buy equipment upfront instead of bundling it into the monthly fee. Treat that list as your checklist for a Vector quote. Our early termination fee comparison shows the exit terms that other brands do publish.
What a Vector system costs over the contract
With only one published monthly figure, any total is a floor, not a typical bill. Using the first responder offer's $44.95 starting rate over its 36-month agreement (our arithmetic, before tax, equipment and installation):
| Scenario | Monthly | 36-month monitoring total |
|---|---|---|
| $44.95 starting rate | $44.95 | $1,618.20 |
| $44.95 less 20%, if the discount applies to that rate | $35.96 | $1,294.56 |
For comparison, ADT also publishes only starting figures for pro-install monitoring and quotes the rest; see what ADT monitoring costs. The full market map, including brands that publish complete price lists, is in home security cost per month.
If you already have a wired alarm from a previous owner, ask whether Vector will take it over and what that changes in the quote. Our guide to monitoring an existing alarm system covers what to check before anyone reactivates old equipment.
Questions to settle before you sign
Because nearly every Vector number is set in the quote, get these in writing:
- The monthly monitoring rate for your package, and whether any discount is temporary.
- The agreement length, since Vector says it can run several years depending on area and services.
- The early termination formula and whether the agreement auto-renews.
- Installation cost, and whether equipment is bought upfront or bundled into the monthly fee.
- Repair visit and warranty terms.
Vector says customers can control their system from one app, with text and email alerts, remote door and garage control, energy-use controls, letting visitors in remotely, and camera viewing. What that adds to the monthly rate is not published.
To get a second number to hold a Vector quote against, we can fetch real quotes from professional monitoring providers through a short questionnaire.
