Privacy policy

Effective October 30, 2026.

What we collect

If you only read this site, we collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). If you use the quote form, we collect what you enter: your ZIP code and state, answers about your home (ownership, size, entrances, existing system, installation preferences, timing), and, if you complete the form, your name, street address, city, email address, and phone number. We also record your IP address, browser user agent, the page you submitted from, how long you spent on the form, and a lead-verification token (see below).

How we use it

Quote-form information is collected for one purpose: to connect you with home security providers who can quote your home. When you submit the form with consent, we transmit your information to our lead marketplace and the participating providers listed on our marketing partners page, who may contact you by phone, text, and email about home security offers.

Lead verification

The quote form may use Jornaya LeadiD, an independent consent-verification service that records proof that you saw and agreed to the consent language on the form. This produces a token we pass along with your request.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use Google Analytics to count visits and how pages are used. It sets first-party cookies holding a random identifier for your browser, and Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. We never send Google your quote-form answers or contact details. You can block it with your browser's cookie settings or Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

A few equipment guides link to products on Amazon through affiliate links, disclosed on the page that carries them. Third parties, including Amazon and other advertisers, may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on your browser; when you follow one of our Amazon links, Amazon uses cookies to credit the referral. Amazon's privacy notice applies on its site. Amazon's reports to us list which items were ordered and when, with no personal information about who ordered them. Our analytics record the click (which page and which product) against the same browser identifier as your other page views; we do not learn who you are.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info, and limit cookies in your browser at any time.

What we do not do

We do not sell reader browsing data, and we do not share quote-form information with anyone other than the marketplace and providers described above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Your choices

Submitting the quote form is entirely optional, and consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can revoke marketing consent with any provider directly, or contact us at privacy@homesecurityradar.com to request access to or deletion of the information you submitted. Residents of states with consumer privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Virginia) may exercise their access, correction, and deletion rights through the same address.

Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the effective date above.
