Frontpoint Cost: Equipment, Monitoring and Fees (2026)

As of October 2026, Frontpoint monitoring regularly costs $49.99 per month (Ultimate) or $44.99 per month (Interactive), each on a 36-month contract. Equipment packages start at $69 (Essential) and $269 (Total Home) during its current sale. Over three years that is roughly $1,689 to $2,069 before tax (our arithmetic). Leaving early costs 80% of the remaining monthly charges.

How much does Frontpoint cost per month?

Frontpoint advertises its plans as day rates on its monitoring page and states the regular monthly prices in its offer terms. All figures below are as of October 2026, from Frontpoint's own pages.

PlanDay rate shown ("as low as")Regular monthly priceWhat it covers
Ultimate Monitoring$1.65/day$49.99/mo, 36-month contract24/7 intrusion, fire, CO and flood monitoring, app control, live and recorded video, home automation
Interactive Monitoring$1.48/day$44.99/mo, 36-month contract24/7 intrusion, fire, CO and flood monitoring, app control, no video
Video-Only$0.50/dayFrom $14.99/mo, 36-month contractSelf-monitored live and recorded video, in-app panic button, no professional alarm monitoring
In-App Safety Button$0.17/dayNot stated as a monthly figure in the offer terms; the monitoring page says plans start from $4.99/monthGPS-based personal safety button, sold by phone consultation

Tax is extra on every plan. Frontpoint's offer page also runs a limited-time deal: $24.99 per month special pricing plus one free month on the Ultimate plan for new customers who order by phone, still on a minimum 36-month Ultimate contract, valid through November 5, 2026. The offer text does not say how long the $24.99 rate lasts, so ask the agent to put the rate for every month of the term in writing before you sign.

Only Ultimate and Interactive include professional monitoring. Video-Only is a camera plan you watch yourself. If you are still deciding whether the professional tier is worth paying for at all, our guide on whether professional monitoring is worth it lays out the tradeoff.

What does Frontpoint equipment cost?

Frontpoint sells self-installed kits and does not charge for a technician visit, because there is none: its shop page says sensors are peel-and-stick and most customers finish setup in about 30 minutes. As of October 2026 its two preconfigured packages are on sale:

PackageSale price (October 2026)What is included
Essential Home Security System$69 (Frontpoint states 84% off value)Hub and keypad, 2 door/window sensors, Home Defense Kit (3 items), optional camera choice
Total Home Security System$269 (Frontpoint states 75% off value)Display Hub+ panel, 3 door/window sensors, motion sensor, smoke and heat sensor, Home Defense Kit, indoor and/or outdoor camera choice

Frontpoint's shop FAQ also says most customers start with a base package of around $129 to $399, depending on how many sensors and devices they add, and that systems start as low as $69. Two other equipment terms matter:

  • 40% off additional equipment is applied automatically in the cart for new customers, but only with a 36-month Ultimate plan, through November 5, 2026.
  • Price match applies to Frontpoint products and packages bought by phone, not to monitoring.

Frontpoint's equipment warranty is 3 years from activation or receipt, whichever comes first, and it holds only while you remain an active customer in good standing. Screens, wiring, bulbs and batteries are excluded.

What is the 3-year total, and what does leaving early cost?

Because every Frontpoint monitoring plan runs on a 36-month contract, the honest way to price it is over three years. Using the regular rates and the October 2026 sale package prices (our arithmetic, before tax):

SetupEquipment36 months of monitoring3-year total
Essential kit + Interactive$69$1,619.64$1,688.64
Total Home kit + Ultimate$269$1,799.64$2,068.64
Any kit + Video-Only (no pro monitoring)$69 to $269$539.64$608.64 to $808.64

Add-on equipment, cameras beyond the package and tax push these numbers up. The $24.99 phone promotion would pull the Ultimate figure down for as long as it lasts, which Frontpoint's terms do not specify.

The exit cost is published, which is not true of every brand. Frontpoint's terms say early termination of the 36-month contract may result in a fee of 80% of the monthly charges left in the term. Cancel an Ultimate plan after 12 months and that is 24 months x $49.99 x 80%, about $960 (our arithmetic). We compare this rule with other brands' exit terms in our early termination fee comparison.

Before that clock starts, you get a 30-day risk-free trial from the day the system arrives. Return the complete system postmarked within 30 days for a full refund with free return shipping. Returns postmarked after 30 days or missing equipment can carry a restocking fee of up to $150.

How Frontpoint's price compares

At $44.99 to $49.99 per month on a 36-month contract, Frontpoint asks for a three-year commitment while still asking you to install the system yourself. ADT vs Frontpoint sets its published prices and terms against ADT's. Our Frontpoint vs SimpliSafe comparison covers the no-contract DIY alternative, and Vivint vs Frontpoint covers the pro-install smart home option.

What the premium buys, per Frontpoint: cellular-only monitoring (no landline or Wi-Fi needed for the alarm path), a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours, alarm verification using the AVS-01 alarm validation scoring standard, and a crash-and-smash safety feature. Whether that justifies roughly $1,700 to $2,100 over three years is the question in is Frontpoint worth it. For the market-wide price map, see home security cost per month.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Frontpoint per month?
As of October 2026, Frontpoint's offer terms list Ultimate Monitoring at $49.99 per month and Interactive Monitoring at $44.99 per month, plus tax, each on a 36-month contract. Video-Only starts at $14.99 per month. A phone-only promotion offers Ultimate at $24.99 per month for new customers through November 5, 2026.
Does Frontpoint require a contract?
Yes. Frontpoint's offer terms state that Ultimate, Interactive and Video-Only plans are each governed by a 36-month contract. Its referral terms also mention 1-year subscriber agreements, so ask whether a shorter term is offered when you call.
What is Frontpoint's cancellation fee?
Frontpoint may charge an early termination fee of 80% of the monthly charges remaining in the 36-month term. On an Ultimate plan cancelled after one year, that is about $960 (our arithmetic). Cancelling within the 30-day risk-free trial avoids it if you return the complete system.
