ADT Equipment Cost: Published Prices and Install Fees
ADT publishes full equipment prices only for its DIY line, ADT Blu: kits list at $199 to $699 (from $99 on sale) and single devices at $18 to $280, as of October 2026. For professional installation it publishes one offer, a $99 installed starter system on a 36-month contract from $59.99 a month. Everything else is quote-only.
Figures researched 2026-10-01; each source below carries its access date. Prices change; treat any price here as "as of" its date.
What ADT pro-install equipment and installation cost
ADT sells two ways, and it publishes very different amounts of pricing for each. For professionally installed systems, the only published equipment price as of October 2026 is a promotional bundle:
- $99 professionally installed system: one ADT Base, three door/window sensors, one motion sensor and a choice of one Google Nest camera (Nest Doorbell, Nest Cam Outdoor or Nest Cam Indoor), installed. It requires a 36-month monitoring contract starting at $59.99 a month (24 months in California, total fees from $1,439.76), ADT AutoPay and satisfactory credit, and you must call to claim it. ADT's terms say the $99 is a minimum purchase after the promotion and can vary by location. The offer expires 11/9/2026.
Beyond that bundle, ADT does not publish per-device prices for pro-install equipment or a standard installation fee. ADT's own cost explainer describes two ways the money is collected: buy the equipment outright and pay for installation, or pay an installation fee and fold the equipment into the recurring monthly charge. ADT's residential contract adds that, unless you are approved for ADT financing, the full installation charge is due in one payment on the day of installation. ADT's own pages also list different monitoring starting rates depending on the page and package.
The practical consequence: the only way to price a pro-install system with more sensors or cameras than the bundle is a quote. Ask for the equipment total, the installation charge, and whether either is financed inside the monthly payment, because the 36-month contract math changes depending on that answer. Our security system installation cost guide compares what other providers charge to install.
ADT Blu equipment price list
ADT Blu is ADT's self-install line, sold online with month-to-month monitoring. Here ADT does publish prices. As of October 2026:
| ADT Blu kit | Sale price | List price |
|---|---|---|
| Build My System (Base, 2 door/window sensors) | $199 | $199 |
| Security Starter Kit (Base, 3 door/window, 1 motion) | $99 | $249 |
| Life Safety Kit (Base, 2 door/window, smoke and CO detector) | $109 | $279 |
| Video Essentials Kit (Starter contents plus doorbell or outdoor camera) | $273.60 | $339 |
| Outdoor Video Kit (Base, 2 door/window, doorbell and outdoor camera) | $270.20 | $389 |
| Total Safety Kit (Base, sensors, smoke and CO, water sensors, 4 cameras) | $485.40 | $699 |
Single devices, at ADT's shop prices: door/window sensor $18, water and temperature sensor $30, motion sensor $35, glass break sensor $40, premium door/window sensor $40, indoor siren $50, smoke detector $60, smoke and CO detector $85, keypad $99, and the Blu cameras at $69 (indoor), $89 (outdoor) and $109 (doorbell) list, currently 60% off. ADT also resells a Yale Assure Lock 2 at $209.99 and Google Nest thermostats at $129.99 and $279.99.
The 60% discounts are tied to monitoring. ADT's terms say the 60% kit and camera discount, which expires 10/21/2026, requires a Pro-Protect plan ($24.99 to $37.99 a month depending on kit, one-month minimum) or, for standalone cameras, the $9.99 Video Connect plan, and add-on discounts cap at $550 per order. Professional installation is not available for Blu, and Blu devices work only with Blu systems. Whether self-install or pro install is the better trade is covered in ADT self setup vs pro install.
Fees on top of the equipment
ADT's published terms list charges that apply on either route:
| Charge | Amount (as published) | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Guard response | $8/mo | Cities that require guard response to verify alarms |
| Alarm permit processing | Permit cost plus a one-time $8 | Cities where ADT must obtain your permit |
| Security deposit | Not published | ADT says one may be required |
| Reactivating an existing ADT system | $99 off virtual activation (max discount $99), 36 months from $45.99/mo | Existing, eligible ADT equipment |
On the reactivation offer, ADT's terms state the professionally installed system remains ADT's property and that service and installation charges vary by configuration. That matters if you move into a home with ADT hardware already on the walls.
Repairs after installation are another equipment cost. ADT's limited warranty covers the first 90 days; after that, repairs are billed at ADT's labor rate unless you carry the Quality Service Plan, and even with it ADT lists a per-visit on-site charge. Our ADT Quality Service Plan guide covers both.
Can you lower ADT's equipment cost?
On paper, three levers exist. First, the bundle: if the $99 system covers your doors, adding devices later through a quote is the expensive path, so get the full device count into the original quote. Second, financing: ADT offers to finance equipment for approved customers, and our home security financing guide explains what to check in 0% offers. Third, negotiation: ADT's promotions change often, and our guide on negotiating ADT's price covers what ADT publishes about offers and retention.

Ask which applies in your quote.
